A few things well... that should be your approach to serving the Lord.  Find one or two ministries and give your all.  If you do, one or two should be more than enough.  Many people spread themselves too thin and make no significant impact for Christ.  They end up tired and frustrated with very little, if any, eternal fruit for their efforts.  If you're interested in doing a few things well, follow the steps below.

Step 1) Pray, asking God to direct you to a ministry that fits your spiritual gifts, personality, and passion.

Step 2) Develop your spiritual gifts along with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel where God has planted you.

Step 3) Remain humble, ask for help and seek honest evaluations from spiritually qualified Christians who have already done what you're trying to accomplish.  Make sure their advice lines up with Scripture.

Step 4) Be faithful.  Stick with it long enough to see God work in and through you.  Rely on the Holy Spirit to encourage and empower you as you learn to walk with Him in your ministry partnership with Him.

Step 5) Makes sure you're looking more and more like Jesus each time you serve.  Remember God's goal is not merely to get some work done, but to transform you into the image and likeness of Christ as you serve others as His holy representative.   God's goals include more than growing a ministry.  He wants to grow your soul as you serve in His ministry.  So commit above all to transformation and spiritual growth.
